After this you need to spread masonry sand on the whole patio area. Try to level it once it gets balanced, make a hole and spray light water. It will take at least 24 hours for adjustment after that you need to tamp it again for making solid base. Before starting the laying of bricks you need to place plywood on the sand it will help in controlling the tamped base, which can create problem during working. Now you can start laying bricks, but make sure you are placing it closely. When your laying bricks work is over you need to spread sand all over the area. In the end you need to fill sand in the cracks and put water on the sand so it will be well knit. Keep repeating this step for few times in this way all the cracks will be filled properly.
